Diversity of thought promotes creativity, leading to greater innovation and problem solving

Despite the case for women in business being clear, several firms are still lagging behind when it comes to getting to grips with gender equality.

Half the world is female and therefore half of customers, clients, and investors are women – clearly it would be helpful to better understand and relate to them. And with the race for talent raging on and the fact that the discerning millennial will ask you if you are worthy of their consideration, it means that bosses cannot afford to let inequality get the better of them.

Why then are firms still lagging behind when it comes to hiring, retaining and promoting 50 per cent of their talent? This is a question Laura Haynes, founder and chairman of Appetite, seeks to answer.
